Film Friends is a monthly series that brings established and emerging filmmakers together online for informal discussions on everything analog cinema. Pablo Marín (1982, Buenos Aires, Argentina) is a filmmaker, writer, professor and translator. As artist in residence he was invited to The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, LIFT (Toronto), the Friedl Kubelka School for Independent Film (Vienna) and the Academy of Fine Arts in Helsinki. As an independent researcher and curator, he has presented programmes on Argentinean cinema in the United States, Canada, Spain, Austria, Finland and Switzerland, and was part of the research team of “Ismo Ismo Ismo: Cine experimental en América Latina”, a project of the Los Angeles Filmforum and the Getty Foundation. His films have been shown and received awards at international festivals and museums and he is currently preparing a volume on Argentine experimental cinema to be published in 2022.
