David Pfluger is a Super-8 filmmaker from Basel, Switzerland. He used the Super-8 format when he started to make animated films in the early 1990s when digital cameras were not available. He fell in love with the format and motion picture film in general so he stuck with it to this day. Over time he developed a more artistic approach to the medium, wanting to use film also as an interactive medium. In the year 2000 he founded the art collective Mobileskino together with friends. Looping film was often part of their ideas and concepts but they could not find any reliable and readily available film looper for Super-8 film. So he built his own and also made it available to other artists.
